It is that time of year again. Time for our annual Sail Past and Race. The format will be changing slightly this year however most of it will remain the same.

We will be forming up for the sail past off of "Tiddly Cove" (which is really Sandy Cove") off West Vancouver (near Caufield Cove, right here); look for FANCY FREE flying the huge TCYC burgee. The sail past will begin at 11:00am so make sure that you are there early enough to form up. The sail past order has already been posted - but may still be slightly modified as we get more confirmations of attendance. Remember for this event attendance is mandatory. If you are unable to make it make sure you send your regrets to the Commodore.

The Race

Following the sail past we will be conducting our Sail Past Race. This is a fun race for all of our members. Sailing Instructions will be posted within the week. The format will be a short course taking us back to False Creek. Remember to keep your own time and that the helms person needs to be a novice on your crew.

So what's different this year?

Instead of meeting up at Burrard Civic Marina we have opted to do a raft up in False Creek . We will be rafting up on the South side of the creek between Spruce Harbour Marina and Heather Civic Marina; see the google map below. We will be providing a dinghy service from the shore to the raft up if you are unable to bring your boat. Call Tyler at 778.237.2654 for a pick up at Spruce Harbour Marina or Heather Civic Marina.

Remember to bring your fenders and watch your rigs when rafting up.

At the raft up we will be having a BBQ. If your vessel does not have a BBQ bring your food and we will find space on a boat that does. This is a BYOOBVSB event [ = Bring your Own Organic Beef or Vegetarian Substitute - AND Beer!]

Boat Inspections!

Also new: the Commodore will be conducting a fleet review of all participating vessels and subjecting them to a white glove inspection. He will then award the new and soon to be highly coveted TCYC Ship-Shape Award.
