DAVID JORDAN MEMORIAL TROPHY FOR OUTSTANDING CONTIBUTIONS TO TCYC
David Jordan was a member of TCYC from 1976 until his death in 1986. He was a member of the executive for three years. He was Commodore in 1979. David was a quiet gracious type who consistently worked behind the scenes to make the club a success. This trophy commemorates his commitment by annually honouring a member who has made an outstanding contribution to the club. It was fabricated by member, Barry Clarke.
LOG BOOM AWARD
The Log Boom Award was conceived as a reward for not quite succeeding, this as opposed to all other trophies presented in Tiddly Cove for winning. It was named and initially presented for the all too common action which occurs when warped to a log boom, falling off. It was never intended as a method of singling out an individual for an unfortunate incident, but rather to inject a little humour into sailing and racing, which at times is taken far too seriously, in this tone, very few rules are required to adminster the awarding of this trophy, and its up-keep.
The Non-rules are:
1. A humorous event or series of, or otherwise, which generally end
happily.
2. A club member may only win this trophy once.
3. The newest winner(s) must attach a suitable memento of their mishap
to the Log Boom Trophy.
4. As a further reward, the current recipient has the following year
to observe and select the new winner from the foibles of many of
TCYC members.
